about

Ampio is based in the historic neighborhood of Monteverde in Rome, Italy. The boutique’s collection features a wide range of Scandinavian and Italian mid-century furniture, lighting, and accessories including pieces from Gio Ponti, Giuseppe Pagano, Ico Parisi, Renato Venturi, Tobia Scarpa, Paolo Buffa, MIM Roma, Rodney Kinsman, Adrian Pearsall, Arne Vodder, Goran Strand, and Dyrlund as well as one-off designs from unknown origins. In addition to providing interior design consulting, Ampio also specializes in upholstering vintage pieces and offers a large selection of high-quality English and French design fabrics from Designers Guild, Lacroix, Nobilis, and Livio De Simone. Today, founder Paolo Chiari carries on the tradition, which he started over twenty years ago with Linn Sui, of designing, producing, and sourcing Japanese furniture and accessories, as well as the manufacturing of upholstered beds and futons.
